Quality Partners

Michigan Quality Improvement Consortium (MQIC)

MQIC is a collaboration among 13 Michigan health plans, physician organizations and physician associations that develops and maintains evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.

The consortium also provides and develops tools such as disease management plans, checklists and patient education plans that physicians can use in managing their patients' care.

The consortium also creates MQIC-community reports based on National Committee for Quality Assurance HEDIS® measures. The reported rates are used to help participants understand where improvements are needed to provide focus on outreach and education efforts.

Participants include physicians and other leadership personnel representing Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and 12 other health plans, along with the Michigan State Medical Society, the Michigan Osteopathic Association, the Michigan Association of Health Plans, the Michigan Peer Review Organization, as well as the Michigan Department of Community Health and the University of Michigan Health System.
