Peripheral Vascular Intervention Quality Improvement Initiative

This initiative aims to

  1. Identify best practices in peripheral vascular interventions
  2. Systematically disseminate and implement these practices in hospitals across Michigan
  3. Increase utilization of recommended medical therapy that has been demonstrated to decrease future risk of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in this population of patients

Early results have shown a 7.5 percent decrease in post-PVI blood transfusions, and a significant improvement in the use of recommended medical therapies.
