Scott Flanders, M.D.,
Director
Scott Flanders, M.D., serves as director of the Hospitalist Program at the University of Michigan Health System. He also serves as associate division chief of General Medicine for Inpatient Programs, Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan Health System. Dr. Flanders received his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.
Julie Wietzke, M.H.S.A., M.L.S.,
Program Manager
Julie Wietzke, M.H.S.A., M.L.S., is a project senior manager in the Division of General Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan Health System. She has been employed by the University of Michigan for more than 10 years in various roles associated with the management and administration of research. Wietzke received a degree in health management from the University of Michigan School of Public Health and a degree in library science, specializing in health sciences information, from the University of Maryland College of Information Studies.
About the Coordinating Center
The University of Michigan serves as the Coordinating Center and is responsible for collecting and analyzing comprehensive clinical data from the participating hospitals. It uses these analyses to examine practice patterns, generate new knowledge linking processes of care to outcomes and identify best practices and opportunities for quality and efficiency improvement. The Center further supports participants in establishing quality improvement goals and assists them in implementing best practices.
